sounds familiar

So my brief for my fourth year project essentially revolves around making science and physics more accessible, relating it to familiar concepts that people can understand. Im trying to avoid dumbing down my subject matter, but I've had to take a few liberties to get the message across. This project aims to combine radio astronomy with our familiarity with sounds and music, dismissing the notion that space is just a silent expanse. Although im having to exclude a lot of the 'real science' behind my visuals, the hope is that they inspire people to see the universe in a different light and find out more detailed information for themselves.

Or to put it another way, I need to stop watching science fiction programmes and Brian Cox documentaries.

Winter hates my face

In what may be a extreme approach to the colder weather, I have adopted the tried and tested technique of wearing as many clothes as I can and looking menacingly at clouds if they look slightly snowy.

Simply because I haven't posted in a while. and I appear to have gone mad.

Contact

Some rough designs from a project I've been working on for the last couple of weeks. Without getting too bogged down in the science behind it, its essentially looking at ways of visualising the radiowaves that are generated by stars, planets and other celestial bodies. The hope is I can find a way of explaining these sounds in a way that people are more familair with.

Im slightly better at explaining this concept in person. Only slightly though.
